Easy retrofitting of Soft functions
Comfort hardware components and comfort hardware make windows anddoors more reliable to use, for example for children and seniors. This gives them greater independence. At Roto, hardware is created so that experts can retrofit comfort components even after windows and doors have been installed.
Examples include the Soft functions for the Patio Inowa (up to a sash weight of 200 kg) and Patio Inowa | Max (up to 400 kg) sliding systems. These can be retrofitted in just a few operation steps even by a fitter working alone.
With or without automatic retraction
The SoftClose and SoftOpen functions mechanically break the sliding sash just before its final position and then gently pull it into the locking position or its open final position. The third function – SoftStop – helps ensure damped sliding of the sash and also brakes it just before both final positions, but does not automatically pull it shut or close it. This enables even a very large, heavy sash to be moved and closed deliberately and carefully.
Without unhinging the sash
SoftStop, SoftClose and SoftOpen can be retrofitted without unhinging the sash. All you need to do is remove the guide track and tilt the sash slightly. Then the standard control unit is replaced with one control unit for SoftClose (on the espagnolette side) and one for SoftOpen (on the mullion side). The existing drill holes are reused.
The activators for the Soft functions are easy to install in the guide track using a special drilling jig and three screws. Roto supplies a special tensioning tool to tension the spring damping system. This is mounted in the bolt of the activator. Then the element is slowly pushed into the locking position so that the connector on the tensioning tool slides into the control unit for the Soft function. All it takes to activate this is to slowly push the element open. The connector is automatically triggered and – just like that – the Soft function is activated.
