Stockbrünnele School Centre

Sustainable school construction using hybrid timber construction methods

The Stockbrünnele School Centre for around 750 pupils combines the Friedrich Schiller Secondary School and the Theodor Heuss Technical Secondary School in one building.

An energy concept was developed for the hybrid timber construction school building, which incorporates the latest standards for sustainable school construction, including: district heating, a central CO₂-controlled ventilation system with heat recovery, a 190 kWp PV system with battery storage, green spaces, rainwater harvesting via cisterns, and the use of sustainable and pollutant-free construction materials.
