Technically sophisticated window and door refurbishment at the Otto Hahn Comprehensive School in Frankfurt am Main
During the refurbishment of the Otto Hahn School in 2024, demanding requirements were placed on windows and doors, which required a complex adaptation to the existing building structure and the specific functional requirements. In particular, high standards for tightness, energy efficiency, security, sound insulation and burglar resistance applied, which influenced both the design and the technical execution.
In addition, the installation of the sliding windows posed a technical challenge in terms of the flush integration of the elements into the existing exposed concrete façade, a concealed drainage construction and a construction that was as stable and robust as possible in order to withstand wind load and security requirements.
