Leinfelden-Echterdingen – Over the past few years, Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie GmbH (Roto FTT) has dramatically expanded its Door product range. Customers receive optimally coordinated multipoint locks, door hinges for external doors made from any frame material, thresholds and sealing profiles from one provider. The portfolio includes solutions for inward and outward opening doors. At “BAU” 2025, the company showcased three main doors which proved that a modern look, burglary inhibition, tight sealing and pleasant operating convenience can go hand in hand. A new turn restrictor for aluminium doors was presented for the first time. All of the main doors on display at “BAU” can also be found in the virtual “Roto City”. The specialist advisor from Roto Sales would be happy to give anyone interested in finding out more a “tour”.

Turn restrictors as an alternative to door stops
A handy accessory for manufacturers of aluminium doors has been added to the “Roto Solid” product range. A new, concealed turn restrictor individually limits the door opening to a maximum of 125°. This prevents a door that is pushed wide open causing damage to furniture, walls and door hinges.
While the other door stops that are common on the market have to be attached to the floor or wall, the new turn restrictor from Roto is fully integrated in the door. It is suitable for leaves with a width of between 800 and 1400 mm and features a damped end stop. Roto performs a quick check to work out which version is best suited to the profile and door hinges.
No routing work is needed to install the turn restrictor. This means that it can also be retrofitted. Door hinges from the “Roto Solid C” range were tested over 200,000 opening cycles together with turn restrictors to ensure that they function without any problems.
Slimline hinge design, integrated adjustment mechanism
“Roto Solid B” butt hinges from the “A series” are a popular choice for aluminium doors. The “Roto Solid B | 324 A” three-part clamp hinge was on display at the trade show. It is suitable for doors up to a sash weight of 160 kg. The “Roto Solid B | 224 A” two-part version can be used to produce aluminium doors up to a sash weight of 120 kg. The butt hinges impress with their slimline design, selection of colours, and hassle-free installation and adjustment.
They are quick and easy to install in profiles with a Euro-groove. The smart clamping technology tailored to the system does away with the need for additional profile machining. The adjustment mechanism is integrated in the hinge roller, so no gaps are formed and no axis offset occurs during hinge adjustment. This means that the attractive look of the butt hinge is always retained regardless of the hinge setting.
The mounting of the butt hinges is individually adapted to the groove on an aluminium profile. Customer-specific mounting options for a perfect fit are developed in conjunction with the profile system supplier and the door manufacturer.
Butt hinges for all frame materials
The “Roto Solid B | 318 P” three-part butt hinge for doors up to a sash weight of 120 kg – installed in another trade show exhibit in the “Roto City” – subtly blends into any door design with its narrow diameter of just 18 mm. The range of hinges is completed by the “Roto Solid B | 218 P” two-part version for doors up to a sash weight of 80 kg and by two- and three-part butt hinges with a diameter of 22 mm for doors with a sash weight of up to 160 kg. The butt hinges of the “P series”, which are mainly used for PVC doors, are also suitable for timber and aluminium entrance doors with a 16 mm hardware groove. These hinges come mostly preassembled, so it takes just a few operation step to install them, either in the rebate or in the overlap. The hinges can be adjusted quickly and easily without needing to unhinge the door.
Concealed hinges for durable doors
Many manufacturers of aluminium doors use the “Roto Solid C” concealed hinge. This draws attention to the design of the door panel and is incredibly efficient to install thanks to the “FixClick” feature. Instead of laborious screw-fixing when mounting the leaf, this means: one click and you’re done! When the door is adjusted afterwards, the height is changed rapidly via a single adjustment point.
Door hinges from the “Solid C” product line with sash weights of up to 140 kg were tested. They achieved burglary inhibition up to RC 2 as standard and now also in accordance with SKG** (certificate in the process of being issued). With 400,000 opening cycles in accordance with DIN EN 1191, the “Solid C” boasts an especially long service life.
Multipoint locks for every demand
With its showcase at “BAU”, Roto aimed to shine a spotlight on main doors for different security requirements and design concepts. The “Roto Safe C | C600” cylinder-operated multipoint lock appeals to very security-conscious customers. This makes burglary inhibition up to RC 3 possible. Alongside the main lock, up to four additional locks and also assemblies consisting of combination locks and Quadbolts can be actuated. The lock is push-back safeguarded after just one turn of the key. A sound-absorbing whisper latch enhances the main door’s premium appearance. The latch can be turned around when installed, which is good for installation.
Tested quality for double-leafed main doors
A double-leafed main door with a greater opening width and an elegant appearance appeals to architects and builders alike. In Munich, Roto showcased an installation made from PVC with the “Roto Safe A | A700” mechanical-automatic multipoint lock and the “lever-operated espagnolette Standard”. The latter boasts an integrated mishandling device and can be used with extensions in all the usual locking patterns up to a sash rebate height of 3000 mm in PVC and timber. The lever-operated espagnolette can be combined with all Roto multipoint locks, is corrosion-resistant in accordance with EN 1670 class 5 and is compatible with RC 2. The second opening leaf is locked and unlocked without needing to bend over using a convenient side lever, which has been tested over 25,000 opening cycles.
The “Roto Safe A | A700” mechanical-automatic multipoint lock, just like the “Roto Safe E | Eneo A” electromechanical version, features three automatically extending security locking points. The automatic closing is activated without using the key. The lower operating force required to turn the key offers greater comfort. If the customer wants to open the door electromechanically with the “Safe A | A700”, they can simply retrofit the required drive unit with the “Tandeo Upgrade-Kit”.
Fully motorised multipoint lock
The “Roto Safe E | Eneo CC” fully motorised multipoint lock, which was also showcased at “BAU”, locks a door automatically as soon as it is closed. Thanks to the comfort opening, the door can be opened from the inside at any time, regardless of the locking state. The retrofittable deadbolt switch contact monitors the door status at the main deadbolt. The VdS approval (class C) enables it to be integrated in burglar alarm systems. An incredibly quiet yet powerful motor in the multipoint lock opens the door effortlessly with an extremely short unlocking time. The Roto “4in1” access control system makes it possible to open the door either via Bluetooth using a mobile phone, via finger scan, RFID or by entering a numerical code.
Thresholds and drop down seals
Main doors are one of the most energetically critical components of a building. This is why Roto FTT put forward the “perfect match” between lock, seal and threshold at “BAU”.
With a range of accessories including weather profile strips, automatic drop down seals, cover bridges and wind stops, “Roto Eifel” thresholds provide improved isothermal efficiency and greater thermal insulation. They are available in 15 depths from 40 mm to 140 mm. The “Roto Eifel 80 TB” thermally broken threshold with an installation height of 20 mm was showcased in the “Roto City” in conjunction with the Deventer “DDS 1220” drop down seal for exceptional protection against the ingress of water in driving rain.
Deventer seals for external doors
To meet the demands of its international customers, last autumn the Deventer Group combined its drop down seals in a restructured range. Since then, seven seals for different frame materials and requirements have been available as standard. If the customer has specific needs, the Roto FTT subsidiary helps by designing drop down seals specially tailored to a door system.
Alongside a drop down seal, the “Deventer DS 7799” glazing seal was showcased in the “Roto City”. This reliably seals the joint between the aluminium frame of an external door and the glazing. The extremely smooth, water-repellent surface means that it can be used on the outer side of a window. The shape of this silicone seal has been specially tailored to the window system being used. This is good for the design and also extends its service life.
Customer-focused full-range supplier
“The complete solutions showcased at ‘BAU’ are proof that reliable external doors with impressive operating convenience and a high level of security can be created using only Roto technology,” states Tom Vermeulen, Business Development Manager Door. This makes it easier for manufacturers to produce high-quality solutions economically and with minimal risk of errors. Going forward, Roto will continue developing the product range and services with a view to meeting the future needs of door manufacturers. The Sales teams at Roto, Deventer and Ultrafab provide advice about the “perfect match” between hardware, thresholds and seals for external doors.
