Leinfelden-Echterdingen – Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie (Roto FTT) will be launching its new multipoint locks for main doors, apartment doors and back doors at the BAU trade fair in Munich. The company reports that “Roto Safe A | Tandeo” and “Roto Safe E | Eneo A” meet the most exacting burglary protection requirements while also offering remarkable operating convenience. They were the first locking systems on the market to be certified in accordance with the latest version of prEN 15685:2019.

Locking without a key
“Tandeo” and “Eneo A” are suitable for RC 2 and RC 3 and have three security locking points, even in the standard version. The deadbolt in the main lock and the automatic power wedges extend simultaneously. They are immediately push-back safeguarded. This is why full insurance cover applies even if a door is “just slammed shut”.
Motorised unlocking
“Eneo A” is an incredibly convenient way of opening a door. Roto offers this electromechanical version with a preassembled drive unit. The manufacturer explains that a powerful motor ensures a very short unlocking time, working very quietly and quickly. A Plug&Play connection makes installation easy.
More identical parts
The modular design of the “Roto Safe” portfolio and the standardised patterns of the new locks reduce the complexity of the range and of stock-keeping at the fabricator. The frame components tailored to the geometries of many profiles are also compatible with the new multipoint locks. This means that door manufacturers can combine the frame components, which are always the same, with one of the various locking systems from Roto in a flexible way to meet specific customer requirements.
“Tandeo” and “Eneo A” are suitable for DIN right and DIN left doors alike, as their latches can simply be turned around on site if required after door installation. Roto is certain that employees in door production will therefore soon gain more confidence in using the systems. When combined with extensions, the new multipoint locks are suitable for doors up to 3000 mm tall.
Flexibly catering to customer preferences
The new multipoint locks for doors with a backset from 35 to 80 mm are available for many common profile systems and also in versions with a round cylinder, for example, to meet country-specific requirements. This makes them versatile for manufacturers.
As accessories for “Tandeo”, Roto offers an additional locking device which is operated using an additional cylinder, as well as an ID latch which does away with the need for a door chain.
With the launch of the new multipoint locks, versions certified in accordance with DIN EN 179 for escape doors are now also available, which use the same components.
Comfort in everyday life
The robust and smooth-running design of the new locking systems ensures a pleasant feel, underlines Roto. A door can thus be opened by turning the key slightly. The optional day-time unlocking for “Tandeo” is activated simply by flipping a switch on the main lock. Only the latch holds the door in place, meaning that it can now be opened from outside without a key.
The manufacturer explains that doors equipped with “Tandeo” or “Eneo A” close incredibly quietly. This is down to the whisper latch in the main lock and the high-quality PVC latches on the additional lockings. The quiet operation supports the end-user's perception of high quality and comfort.
Tightly sealed for energy efficiency
The latches of the new locks pull the door leaf against the frame profile with a consistently tight seal all the way round. This prevents draughts and reduces heat loss through the door. At the same time, the consistent passive gasket compression counteracts door warping.
Access made easy
The “Eneo A” electromechanical locking can be combined with all common access control systems, such as the Roto “4in1” access control system. A door can be opened either using a PIN code, finger scan, Bluetooth-capable mobile phone or RFID-capable medium. The drive unit also comes in a version with a radio receiver.
Tested quality
The functional safety, corrosion resistance and usability of the new Roto multipoint locks have been tested and certified in accordance with the new standard prEN 15685:2019. The tests on the continuous operation cycles in accordance with DIN EN 1191 (200,000 cycles) were passed, as were the tests carried out by ift Rosenheim to obtain QM 342 certification. VdS and SKG** certification is in the pipeline.
