Bringing doors to a gentle stop

Leinfelden-Echterdingen – The new, concealed “Roto Solid” turn restrictor for aluminium doors is designed to provide reliable protection for walls and furniture, doors and hinges. It controls the opening of external doors based on an individually adjustable opening width up to a maximum of 125°. The damped end stop ensures comfort and prevents the door from being pulled open too forcefully. All that can be seen of the restrictor when the door is open is its slim rotating arm.

Perfect protection in secret

If a door swings open suddenly, this can cause damage to walls or furniture in the entrance area of a home. This is why many home-owners are looking for a solution to brake the opening movement of a door early enough. However, door stops screwed onto the floor or wall after installation of the door can quickly become trip hazards and act like magnets for dirt.

The concealed “Solid” turn restrictor is, by contrast, an attractive solution boasting a truly impressive performance for aluminium doors up to a leaf weight of 140 kg. It’s simply screwed on to the top of the door in the rebate of the frame and leaf, so it can even be retrofitted without any additional routing.

The elegant alternative to a door stop

The “Solid” turn restrictor is available in black or with an STS surface (polished stainless steel). With its black surface, it blends seamlessly into dark aluminium profiles just like the “Roto Solid C” concealed door hinge. Many door manufacturers prefer to use this in the colour black, too. The stainless-steel version of the new turn restrictor is a perfect match for hardware and door hinges with the STS surface.

The required maximum opening angle of a door is defined by the position of the slide bar in the frame. The setting of the damping element is used to adjust the opening angle and configure the optimal settings for the damping.

Preassembled and requires no maintenance

The “Solid” turn restrictor can be used for doors installed on the right and left alike. The “Solid” turn restrictor comes fully preassembled, which saves time and simplifies installation. All that’s required for installation is a T25 hexalobular socket screwdriver. Adjustments are carried out using a 2.5 mm hex key.

Durable and reliable

A door with the concealed “Solid C“ door hinges and the new turn restrictor was tested over 200,000  opening cycles in accordance with DIN EN 1191. Durability without the need for maintenance is guaranteed, as the test was passed with flying colours. The “Solid” turn restrictor boasts class 4 corrosion resistance.

The multipoint lock, threshold, seals, door hinges and turn restrictor come from one provider, ensuring efficient processing of orders and deliveries. Roto’s delivery service is reliable and fast.
