Roto Relies on Solar Power – New Photovoltaic Systems in Velbert and Shanghai
Roto continues to invest in solar energy and has commissioned two new photovoltaic systems at its sites in Velbert (Germany) and Shanghai (China). The goal is to cover part of the company’s energy needs through renewable sources and become more independent from external suppliers in the long term.
Expanding Renewable Energy
At the Velbert site, approximately 900 solar panels with a total annual output of 350.000 kWh have been installed. These panels cover about one-third of the site’s current electricity demand.
Roto is also focusing on photovoltaics in Shanghai. The system installed there, consisting of 170 modules covering an area of around 280 square meters, generates approximately 40,000 kWh of electricity annually. This accounts for about 50% of the site's energy requirements.
