Live in more beautiful surroundings with new windows
Cornelio Civera is passionate about producing durable, user-friendly windows and doors which make rooms brighter and more beautiful. Specialist dealers and builders in the Northern Italian regions of Lombardy, Piedmont and Venice place their trust in him and his company CFG Serramenti, with its around 50 members of staff.
CFG Serramenti Srl in Sant’Omobono Terme has been producing PVC windows and doors since 2009. Last year the company decided to start manufacturing its own timber and timberaluminium elements too. “Subsidies are encouraging Italian homeowners to replace their old windows,” reports Civera. “And some people who had first-generation PVC windows are now looking to upgrade their interiors and switch to timber windows or at least to very high-quality timber-look PVC windows.” He completely understands this decision so he has decided to offer both these options in future.
A question of aesthetics
Civera reports that timber windows in particular are being ordered with a concealed hinge side more often. “Aesthetics play a key role here.” CFG Serramenti has been using the new Roto NX | C hinge side since May 2025. The fitters report that the stay arm is now easier to mount on the construction site. “Since, in most cases, we’re responsible for installation too, it’s important to me that hardware is created for efficient production as well as for fast installation,” emphasises the managing director. “This is standard at Roto.”

CFG Serramenti decided to enter into a far-reaching partnership with Roto back in 2012. “A decision that we have never regretted since,” sums up Cornelio Civera. Whether Tilt&Turn windows, Lift&Slide elements or main doors – the hardware in a building element made by CFG Serramenti always comes from Roto. Its durability and the generally above-average load give him and his team peace of mind, explains the businessman.
“There is less need for customer service deployments when you’re using hardware from Roto.”
The process of producing Tilt&Turn windows is far simpler for employees because they can flexibly use the Roto NX | P and NX | T surface-mounted hinge sides or the NX | C concealed hinge side while the rest of the components remain the same. And this obviously improves efficiency: “As a business owner, I benefit from the Roto modular system because my fitters know the hardware components inside out. Routine ensures that the work is efficient and mistake-free.”

Qualified thanks to further training
However, the performance of his team is not boosted through the correct hardware alone, grins Civera. Further training is the key to lasting success. “We regularly organise refresher courses and training sessions with Roto for our fitters, while office-based staff attend webinars.
We also promote the continuous sharing of knowledge within the team to improve product quality and process efficiency.” At the end of the day, only staff with sound training are able to adopt innovative product solutions quickly. And CFG needs speed in implementation in order to survive in an ever-changing market. What’s more, an expert team plays an important role in improving service, which has a direct impact on customers.

Reaching customers more quickly
Cornelio Civera made his most recent investment in service and reliability in the autumn of 2024: “We put a logistics centre in Almenno San Bartolomeo into operation in October. Thanks to a modern warehouse system and the site’s proximity to important traffic routes, we are now for example able to respond more quickly to the needs of our customers and staff during on-site installation.”
CFG Serramenti is active for various different customer groups. “We generate 50% of our turnover from private customers who visit our showrooms in Almè and Seriate and who can obtain a complete service from us, including installation. We also work with dealers throughout Northern Italy and they account for around 30% of our turnover. What’s more, we cooperate with construction companies which take on major residential construction projects or are in charge of renovating a considerable number of housing units.”

Reliability at all times
Civera is convinced that, in addition to good products and on-time delivery, it is the quality of the relationship with CFG that is, more than anything else, the key to customer satisfaction.
“Customers who feel like they are in good hands are the best ambassadors.”
In the many years since his company was founded, he has learned that you can only be successful in the long term if you establish and maintain good relationships with your customers. “This is why we listen closely, ensure complete transparency throughout the entire process and tailor our work entirely to the individual needs of customers.” It goes without saying that he expects his business partners, with whom he prefers to have long-lasting business relationships, to possess this same awareness.
“We are as dedicated to our customers as Roto is to us.”
And as we all know, it takes real commitment to find the best solution when things get tricky. Roto can be relied upon at this point. The businessman notes that “quality comes about when the customer and supplier treat each other as equals and both want to come up with the best solution together.” This is why reliability in business relationships is important to him and is a key criterion when choosing a supplier.

Ready for the future
Over the next five years, CFG Serramenti would like to significantly increase its turnover
once again through satisfied customers and word-of-mouth recommendations. The company believes it is in a good position to do so. With state-of-the-art production facilities, qualified staff and strong partners like Roto, it will be possible to adapt production to customer requests even more flexibly in future. Cornelio Civera is sure: “Being as capable as a cottage industry yet as productive as a large-scale industrial enterprise promises long-lasting success.”
