20 Years of Roto Campus: Knowledge That Creates Customer Value Worldwide
For 20 years, Roto Campus has been sharing knowledge about products, applications and markets. What began in 2006 as an internal training initiative has developed into an international network of trainers and experts. Today, Roto Campus ensures that knowledge is shared worldwide, experiences are exchanged and expertise is built, always with the aim of providing customers and partners with the best possible support.
“Our goal is not simply to share product knowledge. Above all, we want to understand how this knowledge can help our customers become more successful and create added value for their own customers,” says Herwig Thonhauser, who has helped build Roto Campus from the very beginning and shaped its development over the past two decades.

Understanding Creates Added Value
“No matter how innovative products may be, they can only deliver their full potential when they are understood, used correctly and communicated convincingly.” This is exactly why Roto Campus was created 20 years ago. It not only provides knowledge about products and applications, but also helps participants look at technical solutions from the customer’s perspective. What challenge needs to be solved? What added value does a function provide in everyday use? And how can these benefits be communicated clearly?
“We don’t just look at the product itself. Above all, we focus on the benefits it creates for our customers and, ultimately, for our customers’ customers.”
In doing so, the Campus combines technical expertise with practical knowledge and sales expertise. Because ultimately, the success of a product is determined not only by its quality, but also by the ability to clearly explain its added value and translate it into solutions that meet the customer’s specific requirements.
A Network That Connects People
One of the key success factors of Roto Campus is its international network. Today, trainers and specialists from a wide range of countries and business areas work together. They contribute expertise on different product groups, markets and target groups and regularly exchange their experiences.
“Networking means bringing people together,” says Herwig Thonhauser, describing one of the fundamental ideas behind the Campus.
This exchange in particular ensures that knowledge does not stop at individual locations or national borders. Instead, customers and partners around the world benefit from the combined know-how of an international network of experts.
Personal Contact Remains Essential
Digital learning platforms, e-learning and virtual training are now a natural part of everyday training. Roto Campus was already using these formats long before digital learning became standard, and in several languages.
Nevertheless, one thing is clear to Herwig Thonhauser: technology can support personal interaction, but it cannot replace it. “We are fortunate to still have direct contact. We have the opportunity to train and advise our customers. We simply must not lose that ability.”
Especially in an increasingly digital world, he sees this as a decisive advantage. Only through direct interaction can we gain a deep understanding of the challenges our customers face. This understanding forms the basis for sharing knowledge in a practical way and developing solutions that create genuine added value.

Looking Ahead
After 20 years, Roto Campus can look back on numerous training sessions, international projects and a steadily growing network. For Herwig Thonhauser, however, this is no reason to stand still.
His vision remains unchanged: bringing people together, sharing knowledge and supporting customers in achieving success.
Because one thing has remained unchanged since Roto Campus was founded: “Knowledge is particularly valuable when it is shared and helps others become more successful.”
