All-encompassing expertise from Roto Door for modern door systems

Leinfelden-Echterdingen – Contemporary main entrance doors stopped being purely functional elements a long time ago. As striking design elements, they shape the architecture and create individual highlights. At the same time, they function as a security barrier and are increasingly turning into digital access solutions. Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie GmbH is a full-range supplier, where all components can be obtained from one provider – from hinges, locks and thresholds, through to cylinders, floor door seals, lever handle sets and state-of-the-art access solutions. The perfectly coordinated products form a fully integrated, complete system: Roto Door brings together design, operating convenience and security for main doors made from any common frame material (download Door brochure). The portfolio is being continuously updated in line with current trends and market requirements.

Roto experts will be on hand to provide information about the Door product range at Fensterbau Frontale 2026 from 24th to 27th March in Nuremberg. If you are interested in gaining an initial insight into or more details of the product range, you can find the Door specialists in the “Roto City” in hall 1 at stand 303/304.

Design for any door format

Clear lines, large-scale formats, ultimate design freedom: individual expression brings modern architecture to life. With the “Roto Solid C” concealed door hinge and the elegant turn restrictor, Roto offers two premium components that subtly blend into the design while impressing with the very highest quality. The turn restrictor’s damped end stop reliably protects the door against being pulled open forcefully by limiting the set opening width to a maximum of 125°. All that remains visible is the slim, discreet rotating arm – a statement of modern door design.

The butt hinges from the “Roto Solid B” range create noticeable highlights, with their elegant appearance and precise adjustment, without forming gaps between the leaf hinge and frame hinge. The adjustment mechanisms are integrated in the hinge roller. Versions like “218P” and “318P”, with a diameter of just 18 mm for PVC doors, are available with on-trend surfaces like matt jet black or finely textured matt jet black.

For large entrance areas and projects involving complex architecture, “Roto Safe” multipoint locks can be used to produce impressive doors from any frame material up to a sash rebate height of 3000 mm. Equipped with the Roto “lever-operated espagnolette Standard”, including integrated mishandling device, double-leaf timber or PVC main doors offer a particularly large access opening up to the same maximum height. The concealed mechanics and the operating lever on the side of the espagnolette subtly blend into the door profile.

Roto offers thresholds and weather profile strips with an angular look for doors with clear, rectangular design elements – perfect for projects where the architecture is complex.

Operating convenience: from key to smart control system

Not only do external doors have to look good, they also need to be easy to operate. This is where the “Roto Safe H | H650” lever handle-operated multipoint locking system really comes into its own. The door is locked simply and intuitively by pulling the door lever handle up.

Automatic door locks which don’t require a key, like the “Roto Safe A | Tandeo”, offer increased operating convenience. The retrofittable day-time unlocking device is another feature which provides added convenience. This can be used to specifically switch the automatic closing mechanism on or off. If the function is activated, the door can be opened from the outside without a key.

Motorised door lock solutions in the “Roto Safe E” range represent the pinnacle of convenient main door operation. “Roto Safe E | Eneo CC” is the electromechanical multipoint locking system which opens and locks the main lock and additional locks using a motor. A radio receiver for contactless opening of the door using a hand-held transmitter is integrated in the “Eneo CC” drive unit as standard.

A motorised Roto multipoint lock can, however, also be activated by other systems such as fingerprint or the “4in1” access control system. This can be used to open the door either via a mobile phone connected via Bluetooth, a finger scan, an RFID-capable medium or by entering a numerical code. The “4in1” access control system is compatible with the “Roto Safe E | Eneo CC” door lock (for motorised locking and unlocking) as well as with the “Roto Safe E | Eneo A” (motorised unlocking).

Security: mechanical and electronic

Roto Door is also setting the benchmark when it comes to mechanical burglary inhibition. Multipoint locks from the “Roto Safe” range can achieve increased protection up to RC 3 when paired with combination or Quadbolt additional locks. And that’s not all – some door lock versions are SKG**-certified, as is the “lever-operated espagnolette Standard”, which can be used for double-leaf entrance doors.

A specific example of this is the “Roto Safe C | C600” lock generation. It offers maximum flexibility for the additional locks – from economical solutions through to ultra-secure equipment like the 17-point lock for doors up to RC 4, which is part of the standard range. This cylinder-operated multipoint locking system can be used to reliably secure PVC, timber and aluminium doors up to a sash rebate height of 3000 mm. Additional features like the push-back safeguard after just one turn of the key and the optional drilling plate underline the high standard of security offered by this solution.

Aluminium doors with the “Roto Solid C” concealed door hinge meet the requirements for RC 2 and SKG** as standard. When equipped with a hinge retaining mechanism, PVC main doors with the “222 P” (two-part) and “322 P” (three-part) butt hinges are RC 2-compatible and SKG**-certified.

Roto system solutions for electronic monitoring of the entrance door unlock even more options for mechanical security. For instance, “Roto Safe” deadbolt switch contacts, paired with contact elements from the “Roto E-Tec Control | MVS” magnetic locking and opening monitoring system, offer reliable locking and opening monitoring for multipoint locks. The deadbolt switch contact is built into the frame component and is actuated by the main deadbolt. When combined with the concealed MVS contact element, the exact status of the door – whether it’s securely locked or only pushed to – is accurately detected and forwarded to burglar alarm systems or smart home systems.

The coordination between the deadbolt switch contact and the MVS contact element takes reliable monitoring of the entrance door to a whole new level: both are potential-free, meaning they can be integrated into all standard bus or smart home systems.

The perfect match for door manufacturers

Thanks to extensive system expertise, all components in the entire Roto product portfolio, includingRoto Door, interact seamlessly with each other and offer the ideal solution for any requirement – the perfect match for door systems. One example for balcony doors is the combination of the “Roto Eifel TB” thermally broken thresholds with the new “Roto NX | C” concealed Tilt&Turn hinge side. The “Roto NX” components are specifically optimised for use in these thresholds. The result? Improved sealing, greater stability, accessible threshold solutions and a modern design throughout.

Deventer drop down seals also effortlessly blend into the design, as they are integrated into the hardware groove so they are concealed, creating a subtle appearance. Despite its minimal installation height, the drop-down seal can be depended upon to protect against the weather. An integrated mechanism lowers the seal automatically, providing reliable sealing for the lower joint. This is how the thresholds bring together innovative hardware and sealing technology with sophisticated design, opening up a wide range of creative solutions for premium main doors, balcony doors and patio doors made from PVC or timber. The Roto Equipment range provides another example of this. The “Roto Frame-Tec” packing plates make it possible to precisely shim and level thresholds. This distributes loads in the best possible way and makes the door systems even more durable.

The perfect match concept also includes the testing service offered by the International Technology Centre in Kalsdorf (Austria). This accredited test facility is specifically geared towards PVC, timber and aluminium door systems and helps manufacturers to develop and verify high-performance solutions.
