Trade Press Day 2017: #KeineHalbenSachen

New products for 2018 / Roto sticks to three-stage professional distribution channel / Customers have a real alternative and an opportunity for growth

#KeineHalbenSachen – 100% Roto: Roto continues to rely on its partnership with trade and craft

Leinfelden-Echterdingen / Bad Mergentheim – #KeineHalbenSachen – 100% Roto: meaning “No Half Measures” in English, this is the title of the roadshow that Roto roof and solar technology is holding to tour throughout Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. However, it also describes an internal attitude. Roto provides planners, tradespeople and craftspeople with solutions which allow them to work easily yet at the highest level. For this, the company offers the ideal roof window alongside the compatible equipment in each price/performance class and for any requirements, and is continuously developing its range in accordance with customer demands.

In 2015, Roto launched the RotoQ timber pivot window; its evolution in the form of a completely PVC variant followed in 2017. “Until now, we lacked a PVC product for the middle price/performance segment, the largest market in Germany. The new RotoQ now closes this gap,” explains Christoph Hugenberg, General Manager and member of the board of directors, at the 12th International Roto Trade Press Day in Leinfelden, near Stuttgart. “This means that our product range is complete and that we are able to offer a premium-quality solution for any customer requirement and in every price category for the first time.”

Roto is complete and is continuously developing

This quality has been confirmed by TÜV Rheinland, which awarded the PVC versions of both the RotoQ and the Designo R8 top marks in comparative tests. However, accolades such as this are no reason for Roto to rest on its laurels. On the contrary: “We are constantly further developing our products, always in the sense of ease of installation, premium quality and energy efficiency – that is to say entirely in line with the needs of our customers,” states Christoph Hugenberg.

2018 promises exciting roofing solutions

Next year, in 2018, Roto will therefore be launching additional products which are one of a kind on the market. These include the Roto Designo R8 Quadro, a further development of the bestseller Designo R8. Thanks to the new carrying and crane aid developed by Roto, it increases safety during installation and also makes handling on the construction site even simpler. A new glazing type ensures improved thermal insulation, and various product packages for the R8 Quadro enable tradespeople and craftspeople to always tailor the ideal selection for their customers. “With the R8 Quadro, we have made our best roof window even better,” Christoph Hugenberg is convinced. “This window is one step ahead of comparable products on the market thanks to innovative solutions for quality, installation and security.” Roto will present the new product for the first time at the Dach + Holz trade fair for the roofing and timber industry in February 2018 in Cologne.

Furthermore, there is already a new feature for RotoQ, the latest product innovation: a compatible exterior roller shutter. Just like the pivot window itself, the associated equipment is quick and easy to install. In just 15 minutes, the roller shutter is installed from the inside – and then provides reliable protection against heat and cold, as well as additional protection against burglary.

Reliability and quality that professionals can build on

As with all products developed by Roto, the new R8 Quadro also exactly meets the requirements of professionals. “The demands of our customers are what guide our actions,” states Christoph Hugenberg. “We only do what provides them with added value. The new R8 once again provides craftspeople with the opportunity to differentiate themselves in a competitive environment and to earn good money – trade and of course us as a manufacturer will also benefit from this as an end result.” Roto refers to this close partnership with customers, combined with German engineering skill, as “german made”. This is how the company expresses values such as reliability and quality, to which Roto is dedicated.

Three-stage distribution channel as a commitment to professionals

In addition to including craftspeople in product developments, trade partners are also involved in marketing. This is how the idea was developed for the Roto truck, which has been travelling throughout the streets of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic since March of this year under the title of #KeineHalbenSachen, providing a live experience of Roto’s product world. “Give and take with professionals from trade and craft in a community provides us with the opportunity to improve each and every day,” states Christoph Hugenberg. Roto consistently relies on this close collaboration as partners for this reason, and because Roto knows that professional advice in trade and professional installation by roofing experts are required to achieve a perfect product as an end result. “We are convinced of the model of the three-stage distribution channel and will do everything in our power to retain it,” explains Christoph Hugenberg. “We remain true to our credo of ‘by professionals, for professionals’ and therefore continue to give 100% at all times. We don’t do things by halves now, and never will in the future.”
